JIM MAY Fleet Operations Manager Cell: (561) 719-3795 eMail: jimmay@allfloridatowing.com
Employed in the towing and transportation industry since 1987, Jim May brings diversified knowledge and experience to our company. Originally born and raised in the “Hoosier” state, Jim is the 4th of five children born to Marlene and James R. May, Sr of Lizton, Indiana. Jim and his family grew up on a 200-acre farm where he and his four older brothers helped their father farm an additional 800 acres of land.
When he wasn’t farming with his family, or working for other farmers in the area, Jim drove semi-tractors and trailers over-the-road transporting various goods and products throughout the midwest region of the U.S. In 1992, Jim spent 10½ months in the Russian Krai (province) of Krasnodar on the shores of the Black Sea while employed by Golden Valley Foods (a ConAgra company).
Golden Valley Foods was part of several U.S. companies invited to Russia to help “jump start” their economy during the former Soviet Union’s transition from a Communist form of government to a Democratic one. He broadened his vocational experience a little further by serving as a correctional officer for two (2) years at the Ladoga Academy in Ladoga, Indiana. The Ladoga Academy was a juvenile detention facility for boys and girls, ages 10-18.
In 1999, Jim was hired by “Wilson’s 24-Hour Towing & Recovery” to handle light and heavy-duty towing calls-for-service. Within two (2) years employment, Jim was promoted to manager of Wilson’s and served in that capacity until he was hired by our company in May of 2006 as a Specialized Transport Operator. He was promoted on August 28th, 2006 to be our Representative in Commercial Sales and Account Services. He has since been promoted to Fleet Operations Manager on September 29th, 2006.
Jim is primarily responsible for establishing "new" accounts, serving as a liaison with existing accounts, and managing personnel in both our Towing & Recovery company (ALL FLORIDA TOWING) and our Specialized Transport company (ALL FLORIDA TRANSPORT SERVICES). Jim works with both our Administrative Operations Manager, Heather Potter, and our General Manager, Mark K. Trueblood, in the assignment and coordination of Heavy Equipment calls-for-service and Interstate Transport. Their team is charged with the added responsibility of maintaining the quality of customer service offered to our accounts and customers each day.
A 1989 graduate of Northwest Hendricks/Tri-West High School in Lizton, Jim was a classmate of a well-known sports celebrity and fellow Hoosier, NASCAR Champion driver, Jeff Gordon.
Jim May has three (3) children, Zachary, Jacob & Jessica, all of whom reside with their mother in Lizton.
